Review: Glossier Rose Balm Dotcom

Now you have probably heard of Glossier, a company founded by beauty editors who say you have to think of skincare like makeup who categorize the products into two phases and you will be happy to know are cruelty free. Today I am reviewing the Glossier Rose Balm Dotcom.

glossier review, skincare review, glossier balm review

First things first, look at the packaging!! Now I don't know about you but I am a sucker for packaging, for pretty things that attract the eye and Glossier have got that perfecto! With simple yet pretty pastel shades adorning each product. They have six different balms in various fragrances, though I have to admit I don't smell the rose that much at all.

Glossier review, skincare review, glossier balm review,

When I first got this product and tested it I immediately thought of the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream which like this product you can use on your lips, elbows, dry skin patches anything that needs some love. Glossier label this product as a "universal skin salve" I have used this on my hands, lips, dry patches and found it to add a much needed boost of moisture, it isn't sticky and the thick consistency soon melts into the skin. It is definitely hydrating and being packed with antioxidants it is a bit of goodness for the skin which makes my skin sing Halleluiah!

Glossier review, skincare review, glossier balm review,

I like the consistency and packaging, the product does what it says on the tin though I don't think I would pay £10 for this as you can get other products on the market that pretty much do the same thing for half the price. I really want to try other products in the Glossier range as hear such great things, here is the link to have a peek at all the pretty products.

Skincare: L'Oreal Fine Flowers Gel Cream Wash Review

If you haven't heard already I am on a skincare quest in 2018...its time to actually stick to and invest in my skin, my skin has officially breathed a sigh of relief!

I needed to use something aside from my micellar water to help remove all my makeup and to just make me feel like I was actually doing something for my skin, so when I popped into my local Superdrug I found this L'Oréal Fine Flowers Gel Cream Wash which is meant to be good for dry and sensitive skin.

skincare, best skincare, drugstore facial wash, skincare review, loreal fine flowers cream wash review, loreal skincare review

I don't have sensitive skin but after baby n.3 my skin has changed so much, I have dry patches on my nose, under my eyes where as the other areas of my face seem a little confused on what type it is. I opted for this wash as a quick addition to my micellar water as by the time I get to take off my makeup I am frazzled and my children take up all the extra minutes I have.

The wash contains no soap and alcohol so kind to the skin, its contains rose and jasmine. Rose helps to maintain the skins PH balance, it also helps irritated skin and to clear pores. Jasmine helps the skin by reducing the appearance of age spots and helps provide natural moisture to the skin.

skincare, best skincare, drugstore facial wash, skincare review, loreal fine flowers cream wash review, loreal skincare review

The packaging on this tube is so pretty with a rose petal and soft pink colour. The tube is pretty cheap, I found this for £4.00 and is lasting me a long time as you don't need much at all. Simply squeeze out the product and dab on damp skin then work the product in circular motions which lathers up then rinse off, as simple as that. The product is so gentle and lovely, it helps remove any makeup and dirt, it leaves my skin looking fresh and clean as well as feeling like it has added a boost of well needed moisture. I would recommend this little gem as a quick fix product for all us busy people.

I need to start researching into my skincare and looking into finding some really good products especially ones that help with anti ageing, something I am crying for as I creep further into my 30s.

What products would you recommend?

Review: The Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser

The Body Shop have always been a brand I have liked but never highly rated when it came to the skincare they offered, from Vitamin E to Tea Tree they offered a good variety but nothing that stood out to me or proved to me it was worth the wow factor but all of that changed over the last year or so when my eyes caught sight of positive reviews with the latest launches, so here is my take on the "Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser".
I heard good things about this product and wanted to try it out for myself especially when it claims to boost "dull, tired, grumpy skin" this is something my skin needs urgent help with lately after the arrival of my second child.

bbloggerschat, the body shop, glow boosting moisturiser, the body shop skincare, best highstreet moisturiser,

The packaging is simple, clean and appears high end. It has a matte black lid which I like as I feel matte black looks more expensive then the shiny glossy packaging, the packaging is a bright zesty orange reflecting the zesty scent!

The scent is not overpowering at all, instead it has a refreshing orange scent with a hint of a sweet flower hiding amonst the orange, a scent I love to smell in the mornings, it reminds me of being on my Nonnas balcony amonst her orange trees.

I have used this cream non stop since purchasing it, this has been the product that made me fall in love with the brand again, so much so I became a body shop consultant! The cream is a light orange colour, which feels refreshing and light to touch, I use this cream every morning to wake me up which it sure does, I feel refreshed and ready to face the world. The product claims to " refine texture for smoother, softer-feeling skin" what a claim to make! After a week of using this cream I would say my skin is brighter, happier and appears to be smoother with a glow that makes my makeup love my skin!

My Current Favourite Body Moisturisers

Not that we are getting particularly hot weather but the UK is still having warm days, so for some reason I tend to moisturise more the warmer it is, why I don't know! So here are my current favourites.

Vaseline Spray and Go

Vaseline spray and go is an easy go to moisturiser, it comes in three scents one being cocoa that I am currently using but am yet to try the other two. The difference this product and others that I use is that it is a spray product, so you literally spray, rub in and go a must have for busy days! The product is easy to rub in, it has a subtle scent and keeps your body hydrated, this has to be my must have moisturiser for your collection.

Victoria Secrets Coconut Passion Moisturiser

Want to smell delicious all day? Then this is for you! A thick creamy product that leaves you smelling like a tropical island! I always get compliments when I wear this product, it is so luxurious and smells amazing! The cream isn't that hard to work into the skin considering the thick consistency, it leaves you feeling super hydrated all day and a little goes a long way.

Body moisturiser, Body Shop body butter, Best body products, best skincare, Body butter review, body moisturiser, victoria secrets coconut paradise, vaseline spray and go

Body Shop Papaya Body Butter

As you can see this has the old Body Shop packaging, I have a few like this that I am trying to use up so I rediscovered this gem and oh my what a gem it is! Such a gorgeous refreshing fruity scent that lingers on the skin, as always the Body Shop know how to produce a moisturiser, they always get it just right. It lasts all day and night, the scent lasts all day and the product is easy to work with.

Original Source Skin Quench Moisturiser

This moisturiser has a refreshing fragrance that isn't overpowering, it is a light formula that can at times take a while to sink into the skin but it leaves the skin feeling fresh and moisturised with natural oils. It is a great throw in your bag tube to use on the go.

So these are my current favourite body moisturiser, what are yours?

Review: Boots Botanics 3 in 1 Cleansing Solution

I adore Micellar water and have tried many brands, one I picked up on the whim was the Boots Botanics Micellar 3 in 1 Cleansing Solution which you can purchase from Boots for £2.99, but hurry to boots.com as they have an offer on here.

The thing I love about Micellar water is it feels like you are literally taking your makeup off with water where there are no nasty hidden ingredients that our skin will love. This 3 in 1 cleansing solution is gorgeous, it melts my makeup away and makes my face feel so clean and refreshed. The solution is fragrance, alcohol and soap free which is great as these are not what our skin wants.

Boots Botanics range have bought out this range with the Royal Botanic Gardens as they believe flowers have an important role in making us have the skin care we all want and need which they state proves to work.

This Micellar water contains Hibiscus, which is said to be natures brightness booster, and a mild exfoliator due to its natural AHAs. This gentle flower plays a role in enabling this product to help our skin feel smooth, toned and brighter. The product is easy to use, you barely need anything on a cotton pad to wipe away your makeup as a little goes a long way, and what I love is how pure the formula is, my skin feels better for using it, as with some products I still feel my skin isn't clean, but this instantly makes my skin feel refreshed and ready for bed. I would highly recommend this product and would be one I repurchase in the future, it even made my April favourites.

Review: Derma V10

Hi Loveys!

*Here is a review of some scrumptious products I was lucky enough to review.

Derma V10 Body butters in Mango and Vanilla

Available from Home Bargains.

These body butters smell divine! I haven't stopped using them, hence why there isn't much product in the pictures below! They are rich and buttery, leaving the skin feeling soft and supple. Both smell exactly like the scent they say they are, vanilla smells sweet, mango smells like a Caribbean island! The scents last so long, I get comments whenever I wear them.

Derma V10 Rescue Oil states is an oil to help with ageing, scar tissue, blemishes, treatment and prevention of stretch marks, after sun treatment, before, during and after pregnancy, and dry dehydrated skin.

The oil can be massaged in or used as a bath oil, it contains Peach Kernel, Evening Primrose and Almond oil to name a few of the ingredients.

The oil has a nutty scent, it sinks into the skin without leaving an residue, I have a scar on my right arm and have used this oil on that area, it leaves my skin super soft. I haven't noticed it reduce but then I have had the scar for over 20 years! I love using this on my dry areas, it certainly moisturises on a deep level so if you suffer from dry skin this would be amazing for you. I would say this product is great for a skin treatment.

Review: Trusted Health Products AM and PM Moisturiser

Hello Loveys!

I got to admit I am struggling with writing regularly on my blog, I am in the process of buying a house and planning a wedding! Crazy times! But here is a little review I have managed to get written up for you lovely lot.

trusted health products, moisturiser, review, skincare, anti aging, no parabens, olive oil, american skincare, beautiful, avocado oil, healthy
I was lucky to get contacted by the Trusted Health Products company who sent me a personalised AM and PM moisturiser, a skin treatment. This treatment is for both men and women and can be personalised to Beautiful for women and The Man for men. It comes in a 0.5oz bottle with 360 drops per bottle according to Trusted Health Products. It states it has 3 steps,

"Apply" where you place 2-3 drops on each cheek 1-2 times a day gently spread over your entire face for the first few weeks which can also be used as a makeup remover.

"Detox" where is helps unclog pores, naturally removes toxins and detoxifies your skin from all what is thrown at our skin which will take up to 30 days to achieve.

"Thrive" where most people notice a difference, where it will take place of "anti-aging creams, firming creams, makeup removers and moisturiser" this is a huge statement don't you think?!

I have used both AM and PM for a month now and feel like my skin is brighter, with less blemishes. I did breakout like it stated it could do for the first couple of days, I was scared I would have more as my skin is combination and with an oil based product I was worried it would make my skin go into overdrive but it didn't.

trusted health products, moisturiser, review, skincare, anti aging, no parabens, olive oil, american skincare, beautiful, avocado oil, healthy

AM Moisturiser contains the following 100% pure botanical oils of almond, orange, lemon, avocado and olive.

PM Moisturiser contains the following 100% pure botanical oils of almond, lemon, evening primrose oil and apricot.

The scents remind me of a spa where you can smell pure oils that relax and rejuvenate. They contain no parabens, preservatives, petrochemicals, GMOs, fragrances, dyes, synthetic ingredients or additives. Wow now that's a good list bad guys that aren't included in these bottles of beauty.
I find my skin is feeling better and looking better, clearer, and brighter and I look forward to keep using them to see further results.

For a limited time, the manufacturer is willing to offer my readers one FREE bottle. They said they would love to have our readers try out Beautiful A.M. Review: Karora Instant Tan

Hi Loveys!

Todays review is on the *Karora Instant Tan Wash Off which retails at £12.99. I am starting to become a fan of fake tan and was pleased to be able to discover a brand that was new to me. Karora have various different types of tanning products but I am testing out the wash off version, and to me wash off literally means it will wash off in an instance, here I am imagining orange drops running in the bath!

Karora, Self tan, fake tan, Karora review, Argan oil, Review, Instant tan, swatch, test
I opened the bottle and squeezed a small amount on my arm, my golly gals be careful it is alarming at first as its so dark and when I was rubbing it in it didn't seem to sink in at all so just use a little! So off I trot to wash it off and start again this time using a smaller amount and found it rubbed in nicely, the product is shimmery so if you prefer a matte look I wouldn't recommend this.
The product smells just like chocolate! It contains "pure active botanicals" such as Grape extract, Chestnut extract and Argan oil, being an ingredient Karora loves to use. All these ingredients are great for your skin which help provide nourishment.

Karora, Self tan, fake tan, Karora review, Argan oil, Review, Instant tan, swatch, test
I did notice an instant tan but found it looked quite orange so it isn't a product I personally would buy again but can see why people would enjoy using it, its easy to use and does give an instant tan to the skin, it definitely left my skin feeling soft, another bonus with this product is how quickly it comes off, I popped in the shower and boom off it came instantly, but with this I would worry about being caught in the rain!

Review Lacura Face Masks

Hi Loveys,

Here is my review on these two beauties, Lacura face masks which retail at £3.99 each, available from Aldi supermarkets.

Lacura Nutri Build-Up Face Mask

This mask is for all skin types, it claims to be an "intensive regeneration treatment" that "rebuilds skins protective barrier" and "maintains moisture levels and noticeable rapid suppleness".

This mask has a fruity scent which is cool and creamy, what I found surprising was the applicator, it is a brush which you twist to release some of the product and apply so no mess!

The mask was cooling and I left it on for 10 minutes, when I rinsed it off I found my skin was soft and bright. After two weeks of using this product I noticed my skin looking healthier and my complexion was clearer.

Lacura Anti-Fatigue Face Mask

This mask states it is an "intensive moisturising treatment" that "counteracts the signs of tiredness and refreshes skin" and claims it will give you a "bright and radiant complexion".

This was my favourite out of the two, a citrus scented product that was good enough to eat! I expected a white creamy formula like the above product, but instead a bright yellow cream came out of the brush. This mask is cool and creamy, it applies easy and I kept it on for 10 minutes. The product came off easily after I washed it off with luke warm water, after use this product had my skin feeling soft and hydrated. I used this mask for two weeks and found my skin looked brighter and refreshed. I would highly recommend these two masks, you cant go wrong with the price tag and the result is worth a place in my skincare routine!

Have you ever tried these masks? What is your favourite mask to use?

Review: Cheap Skincare! Lacura skincare

Hi Loveys!

*So here is a review I am excited to write, a review that screams cheap but blimin cheerful! This skincare range is available in Aldi, a supermarket in the UK which also has stores in Europe.

Aldi, Skincare, Review, Cleanser, Moisturiser, Cheap, Bargain, Spotty skin, Oily, Magnolia, BioEcolia, Pretty, Skin, Face mask, Gel wash, Exfoliator
Clear Effect Daily 3 in 1 Cleanser, Exfoliator and Face mask
This gentle everyday use cleanser is now a firm favourite in my skincare collection, its handy 3 in 1 use means no fussing over products and the fact that it is £2.99 means it is a must have!! When I first used the cleanser I fell in love instantly with the fresh yet floral scent, it has a creamy white formula with tiny little blue balls that act as the exfoliator. I now use this cleanser everyday after the removal of my eye makeup, it is so gentle that it acts as a cleanser and exfoliator in one. The face mask is a gentle mask that adds a glow to the skin, it balances the skins natural oils and I felt it was gentle enough to use 2-3 times a week. This product contains Magnolia and BioEcolia which helps "protect and strengthen the natural and biological defence system of the skin, helping to create a more even and radiant complexion. I would agree that it gives a radiant complexion, I love the fact it helps protect and strengthen the skin as this would help with anti-ageing, and as I am nearly 29 I can start to see the signs of ageing- literally could sob after writing that sentence! I would highly recommend this product.
Aldi, Skincare, Review, Cleanser, Moisturiser, Cheap, Bargain, Spotty skin, Oily, Magnolia, BioEcolia, Pretty, Skin, Face mask, Gel wash, Exfoliator
Clear Effect Daily Gel Wash
This gentle gel wash is a blue non sticky gel that you apply to the skin then circulate around the skin and wash off. I tend to steer away from gel washes as have found them sticky in the past but this formula is creamy and moisturising, I was shocked at how well it cleaned my skin, I applied this and as I was rinsing my skin I could see the foundation and dirt swirl around my skin, gross I know! It states it "thoroughly removes impurities and makeup to reduce shine and greasiness", this sentence is how I would describe it! My skin has gone in oil overdrive lately so this range has been helping to control this. This product also contains BioEcolia and Magnolia, it has the same fresh yet floral scent as the 3 in 1 cleanser. £2.99.

Clear Effect Mattifying Moisturiser, Clear Effect Soothing Night Cream and Tinted Moisturiser

I thought I would add these all in the same section as they similar products. All three creams are moisturising and light, the night cream is slightly thicker but not too heavy which I like. The day cream has Magnolia and BioEcolia meaning it protects the skin and creates "immediate mattifying effect with 24 hour moisture" I would agree you do instantly get a matte skin appearance, but I am not sure that it moisturises for 24 hour, for me, as felt that by the evening my skin was ready for my makeup removed and for some night cream to be applied. The night cream contains active ingredients of balloon plant echium and sunflower oil to "sooth stressed out skin and promote suppleness overnight". I would agree, this cream didn't send my skin into oil overdrive that some can do and it calmed my skin, making it feel soft and moisturised! The tinted moisturiser again isn't too thick, its a subtle tint that adds a lovely glow to the skin, it isn't greasy and lasted quite long, it isn't something I would purchase as such as I am one to want to full coverage, but if you are looking for a tinted moisturiser that will give a light coverage and will make your skin feel super soft then this is for you! Each cream is again £2.99 an absolute bargain!!

Review: Healgel Eye and Face

Hello Loveys,

New year new you is what seems to be on a lot of peoples lips, eating healthy, heading out to the gym or buying a fitness dvd, its all about health and feeling good. A lot of people forget that you also need to ensure you are looking after your skin, one of my resolutions last year was to make sure that I had a skincare routine, a resolution I actually stuck by and am continuing! So when I get offered to review a skincare product I get super excited as love finding out about new brands products available, and more importantly I love sharing them with you so here is a new brand to me *HEALGEL, a brand created by British plastic and cosmetic surgeons, an actor, and dermatologist biochemist a varied team!

Healgel is an aqueous gel that "soothes, repairs and protects skin", I was lucky enough to try the following two products.

Healgel Face, an "anti-ageing formula for firmer, smoother and replenished skin". This creamy white gel sinks into the skin beautifully, it made my skin feel smoother and the scent reminded me of walking into an essential oil boutique, with a scent of lavender which isn't overpowering and it contains Omega oils to "nourish dehydrated skin and restore elasticity". This product also contains Arnica and Madecassoside with "powerful peptides and biodynes to initiate a uniquely soothing and collagen boosting process" with added hyaluronic acid. This sounds like a bottle of heaven for my skin! I would recommend this to you lovely blog readers, but don't expect drastic changes to the skin, it isn't a miracle gel or a product that would transform but it is a product that makes the skin feel hydrated, soft and smooth, it has a handy pump and I like the clean simple packaging. I applied this at night time and in the morning, whenever I woke after applying it my skin would appear brighter and soft so I would say give it a go as its a lovely all rounder. Priced at £48.00.

Healgel, Review, Skincare, Pink, Plastic surgery, Face, Gel, Primer, Omega oil, Lavender, Anti-ageing, product, celebrity, famous, dermatologist

Healgel Eye a product to "lift, brighten and revive" formulated to "help diminish the appearance of dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines". This gel isn't as creamy as the face product, it feels water based and I did find this product did not sink into the eye area as I hoped so felt like I was patting away for a while. The product has a subtle herb scent with a hint of lemon which was pleasant, it states it is "instantly lifting", I wouldn't say it does that as I wouldn't say it was botox in a bottle which I imagine is instant. It is a gel that I would be interested to do a before and after photo with, where I could see if it actually makes a difference to my fine lines as I didn't notice much difference, it felt cool and it was good to use as a makeup base as it wasn't sticky which I dislike with a lot of eye products. This product contains peptides, biodynes, hydraulic acid, Arnica and Madecassoside liposome which also feature in the face product, it also contains a "light diffusing element to give a youthful radiance", I would say it adds a light glow to the skin area which helps my dark circles! I would not pay £32.00 for this as it didn't wow me for that price tag, have you tried this? If so what did you think?

Review: Ginvera

Hello Loveys!

*Todays review is on two products from Ginvera. Ginvera was established in 1985 by Dr Tor Lam Haut in Singapore. Ginveras mission is "To be a caring and innovative organization that brings youthfulness, beauty and health to the public." What I like about this company is that not only do they care about the consumer but they also care about the staff which is rare to get nowadays!

The packaging is green which runs through most of the brands products, with metallic green lids which I find is a nice touch, I am not particularly keen on the colour but I always like metallic added to products packaging.

Ginvera Marvel Gel is an exfoliating gel that removes dead skin which "produces new skin cells to replace aging and dead skin cells everyday." This product can be used daily which "removes dead skin cells that clog pores, cause and support blackheads, thus eliminating and preventing formation of blackheads which can lead to pimples".

Here is what Ginvera claim the product can do for you

 1) Removes blackheads painlessly
 2) Softens the cornified layer and gently removes dead skin cells
 3) Refines pores and reveals finer, smoother skin
 4) Fades pigmentation spots and acne scars
 5) Removes oil seeds around eye area
 6) Regulates and balances oil secretion, prevent pimples
 7) Evens out skin tone to give skin clarity
 8) Dull and rough skin becomes smoother and fairer
 9) Stimulates skin metabolism, skin becomes younger
 10) Allows rapid and instant penetration of skincare products applied subsequently

The great thing about this product is by removing the dead skin cells helps the skin produce new skin cells. I expected this product to be like other exfoliators where you have tiny grains which can sometimes be quite harsh to the skin, but instead it was a smooth green gel. I applied this gel to my dry skin and massage it in, to my amazement I could feel skin lifting in tiny fragments, not in a scary way at all!! It was satisfying in a weird way, I could see how badly my skin needed to be exfoliated as I had quite a bit! I literally was hooked from that moment, my skin was so smooth and soft after I used this product. My skin appears brighter and have not had any blemishes since using this! Literally am obsessed! Would highly recommend this, its a tube of magic for the skin!

Ginvera Repair and Nourish Night Cream is a cream that I have used every night since receiving it, it is a lightly fresh scented moisturiser that feels rich on the skin. The cream has Lycium extact that helps promote skin cells oxygen intake and therefore promoting a brighter complexion. It also contains Biogel and Ginseng which help cell renewal and absorption of nutrients. Ginvera states it is formulated to help "skin cells in repairing and renewing at night". The cream has Ginveras famous ingredient Green Tea which is rich in antioxidants to protect the skin against harmful free radicals and helps the skin from aging as it protects against UV rays.

I rarely use night cream as find it can clog up my pores and make my skin feel oily after a few nights of use, but this one feels different, my oil levels feel controlled, whereas normally with my combination skin I can have an oil overdrive on my T-zone, but the combination of the gel and night cream seem to help. I love that this cream has a light fresh scent which sinks into the skin making my skin feel super soft to touch it isn't greasy or sticky. I also find you don't need a lot of the product to feel like your face is moisturised.
