Review: Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer

My trusted MAC Cosmetics concealer was on its way out and I was on the hunt for a cheaper alternative. Makeup Revolution had recently released a new concealer, the Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer, apparently a dupe for the loved Tarte Shape Tape which is a huge pricey little number.

I was unsure on what shade to chose so decided on C4 out of the 18 available shades which is such a good choice compared to other brands who offer only a handful of shades. The product has a lovely rose gold and irridescent packaging with a large sponge applicator.

The concealer is very creamy and slightly thicker then other concealers I have tried and dries a matte finish. I applied this concealer on a manic Monday morning with three little children needing my attention, as I applied this I actually paused and inhaled a deep breath of shock! Not dramatic at all is it....this concealer is everything I have been wanting from a concealer. This concealer not only covers dark circles but doesn't crease which is always the issue I find with concealers. The concealer is easy to apply and blend and lasts all day. I have to admit I am in love and it even beats my MAC concealer! For just £4 this is so worth the money and would highly recommend the Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer

Perfect Summer Scent..

Who loves Anthropology? Urmmm ME!!! I adore everything about the shop it is just divine and having one local to me is fabulous!
I found it hard to find a perfume for my wedding but found one in Anthropology from the brand Royal Apothic, I fell in love with the whole range of perfumes available from floral to spicy and sweet. For Christmas I was lucky to get this in my stocking, thank you father Christmas! I adore the scent of rose and rarely find the scent to be like walking into a rose garden until I met this little bottle.

The bottle is packaged in a fabric holder which has a piece of fabric you pull to reveal the pretty hand bag friendly bottle. The bottle is a beautiful ombre colour with a handy spray.

The scent is like someone has picked a fresh rose from the garden, it is the best rose scent I have come across, I am in love! This is perfect for spring/summer.

Top Notes:

Bergamot
Grapefruit
Rose Petal

Middle Notes:

Linden
Flower
Geranium

Base Notes:

Vanilla
Black Orchid

How handy is this that they feature on the back of the box? I rarely see perfume companies put the exact notes for all to see.

So if you are looking for a beautiful scent in pretty packaging go visit Anthropology for all the scents available in full size or a handy clutch bag size.

Size featured is 10ml at £18.00 which I have had since Christmas and used weekly so does last as you don't need a lot of the product to be able to smell it through the day.

Review: BB Beauty Brunette Shampoo and Conditioner

I was lucky enough to be sent the BB Beauty Brunette Intense Shampoo and Conditioner. I struggle to find a shampoo and conditioner that wows me and was intrigued to see how these would work as they are meant to improve the brighten your hair whether coloured or natural.

BB shampoo, Best shampoo for dry hair, Best shampoo for damaged hair, Best hair products, Beauty review, Hair awards,

I have a little love for the tube bottle packaging, it is easy to get the product out, you will for sure use all the product up. The packaging is a bronze effect with clear labelling, I love the colour! Imagine if it was rose gold! I have trialled these for one month and used them in every wash, I then waited to use another product for a couple of weeks to see the difference and I did see a difference believe it or not. When I started using the product my favourite feature was the scent, it is so delicious and would enjoy washing my hair because of it. I am not great at describing it but it reminds me of flowers, your favourite sweet and holidays all rolled into one without it being overpowering. The product is brown and can be annoying if you get it on the bath but don't wash it off straightaway.

BB shampoo, Best shampoo for dry hair, Best shampoo for damaged hair, Best hair products, Beauty review, Hair awards,
After a couple of weeks I noticed my hair was brighter, I had a comment from a work colleague on how shiny my hair was! I never get comments like that about my hair!
The conditioner states it "infuses smooth, silky feel to dry or damaged hair" whilst the shampoo "rehydrates, softens and smoothes dry or damaged brunette hair".
My hair felt silky and I felt my coloured hair looked in better condition. I used both the shampoo and conditioner, they complimented each other, the shampoo lathered well, whilst the conditioner left a silky feeling on my hair, I didn't feel the need to use my hair oil!

BB shampoo, Best shampoo for dry hair, Best shampoo for damaged hair, Best hair products, Beauty review, Hair awards,

I would highly recommend these and am waiting to get my hands on another lot as these have made my hair look and feel better, silky, brighter and generally happy.

Review: Kylie Jenner Lipstick- MAC Lipstick Velvet Teddy

I am seriously late on this bandwagon! I had collected enough empties to get the Back To Mac where you exchange 6 empties for a free lipstick, can not go wrong with that now can we! So I picked the Velvet Teddy that Kylie Jenner famously uses to create her lip look.
It is a matte lipstick with a brown/orange nude tone. I feel this would suit any skin tone, it is truly gorgeous and can see why people adore this lipstick. I find the MAC matte finish lasts hours and does not need a lot of reapplying, this isn't particularly dry which is rare with the MAC matte finish. I team this lipstick with a gold smokey eye and for the day a more natural brown smokey look which compliments this shade, any eye shadow would go with this colour, it is so versatile.

Review: MAC Prabal Gurung Collection

As you know I am a huge MAC fan, and when they release collections I get super excited! This collection was released before christmas and was a small collection, well compared to some.

MAC, MAC makeup, MAC eyeshadow, MAC latest collection, MAC review, Mac cosmetics, Mac makeup, Natural makeup, Prabal Gurung makeup review, Prabal Gurung fashion

Prabal Gurung is a Nepalese fashion designer collaborated with MAC for this beautiful collection, the collection used heavy gold metal to cover the beautiful products. I purchased the eyeshadow duo in Terre. The packaging oozes high end glamour, has to be one of my favourite packaged beauty products. It feels luxurious and has a magnetic clasp to help keep the product shut with a handy mirror.

Terre to me means earth in french, hopefully I am right with that! So to me the colours represented the earth. The colours are stunning, a metallic neutral shade with hints of pink teamed with a deep chocolate brown. The combination is stunning, this has now become a daily favourite in my makeup bag.

Review: Pouty Lipzz

At the moment I find celebrities seem to be all about the pout, the huge lips but what they seem to not get quite right is that they don't look natural, personally the more natural the more beautiful so here is a product to help achieve a natural pout.

Pouty Lipzz  is a new brand which has come to the UK. Pouty Lipzz's is a clear, fragrance free lipgloss in a sleek tube which is meant to make lips "look instantly more contoured, plumped, fuller and moisturised".

Pouty Lipzz states that it can give up to 40% more volume when applied three times a day for 29 days.

What I love about this product is that it doesn't hurt, it makes me feel awake and minty fresh but in no way does it irritate or cause pain so its a winner. Whether I got a 40% improvement on my volume I got to say I couldn't tell by how much in percentage wise but after 2 weeks I have found that I prefer to wear this gloss on top of lipstick to help create a Kylie Jenner lip look, it helps give me a natural pout to give any lip filler a run for its money!

Available at www.poutylipzz.co.uk for £19.99.

Review: Eye Of Horus Eye Pencil

Hi beautiful readers,

Today is a review on *Eye Of Horus eye pencil in Scarab Sapphire Goddess Pencil. This pencil has a deep blue soft textured pencil with a smudger at the other end to help give that smokey eye look. I have fallen in love with felt tip liners and therefore have not used a pencil for quite some time. I applied this on my lower lash line and used the smudger to smudge the pencil to soften the look. The colour is an intense blue which looks black on intial application, its a stunning colour that gives an exotic look. The colour lasts all day without streaming, it is such a soft pencil and glides on easily. I found the smudger a god send, helping me create smokey looks in seconds.

Pretty Hurts

Beyonce, Pretty hurts, pretty hurts lyrics, beyonce strong woman, media

Its the soul that needs the surgery.....so true, words that set off so many alarms for many people. This society that we live in makes us strive for perfection, something that is unrealistic and sets us up to fail. We have it shoved in our faces on a regular basis, getting a toned stomach, bigger is better, white straight teeth, long thick flowing hair, tanned skin etc. Its all just too much and as most people there comes a point as a person where you feel like you cant handle it anymore, where no matter what you do, say to yourself or think you feel like you aren't good enough, you should be smaller, have straighter teeth, less wrinkles, all these statements go through my head and I feel like I am stuck. As Beyoncé says "Pretty Hurts" and it sure does, there is so much pressure on people today, constantly in music videos where women have a certain look, celebrities look as "perfect" as can be, magazines put pressure on trying different ways to "fix" the look you already have. BUT the way we all look is beautiful, we are all beautiful, we are unique and should be proud of who we are, of what we look like, how we stand proud to be us for us is perfect just the way we are.

Just felt like I had to put how I was feeling down in a post....

Thanks for listening

Review: Makeup Revolution Blusher and Highlighter!

Hello loveys,

So if you haven't already heard here is a new makeup brand on the scene Makeup Revolution, a brilliant affordable brand so on the bandwagon I went.

I purchased the powder blushes in Hot! and Treat! which is only...wait for it.....£1!! Hot powder blush is a hot shade of pink, bright and gorgeous, perfect for summer whilst Treat is a beautiful coral shade. The only thing that isn't great is the packaging which is quite flimsy and the lid can break away with ease but for £1 I am not going to complain. I swatched the blushes and couldn't believe the pigmentation so got straight to applying them to the apples of my cheeks, they applied with ease and you don't need a lot at all! I love that they are matte, I would highly recommend these as they are beautiful and feel high end rather then highstreet.

The next product is the highlighter in peach lights, a pretty highlighter that yet again is amazing for only £3.00, it has flimsy packaging but amazing pigmentation. Again, you don't need a lot and a little goes a long way. I adore this shade, it has a hint of peach running through it that highlights your cheekbones and brow bones beautifully, you also get a lot for your money! I would highly recommend this.

Review: Karora Instant Tan

Hi Loveys!

Todays review is on the *Karora Instant Tan Wash Off which retails at £12.99. I am starting to become a fan of fake tan and was pleased to be able to discover a brand that was new to me. Karora have various different types of tanning products but I am testing out the wash off version, and to me wash off literally means it will wash off in an instance, here I am imagining orange drops running in the bath!

Karora, Self tan, fake tan, Karora review, Argan oil, Review, Instant tan, swatch, test
I opened the bottle and squeezed a small amount on my arm, my golly gals be careful it is alarming at first as its so dark and when I was rubbing it in it didn't seem to sink in at all so just use a little! So off I trot to wash it off and start again this time using a smaller amount and found it rubbed in nicely, the product is shimmery so if you prefer a matte look I wouldn't recommend this.
The product smells just like chocolate! It contains "pure active botanicals" such as Grape extract, Chestnut extract and Argan oil, being an ingredient Karora loves to use. All these ingredients are great for your skin which help provide nourishment.

Karora, Self tan, fake tan, Karora review, Argan oil, Review, Instant tan, swatch, test
I did notice an instant tan but found it looked quite orange so it isn't a product I personally would buy again but can see why people would enjoy using it, its easy to use and does give an instant tan to the skin, it definitely left my skin feeling soft, another bonus with this product is how quickly it comes off, I popped in the shower and boom off it came instantly, but with this I would worry about being caught in the rain!

Review: Yves Rocher Sexy Pulp Volume Mascara

Hello Loveys!

Todays post is a review of the *Yves Rocher Sexy Pulp Volume Mascara a mascara loved by the fabulous Zoella from the world of youtube. This mascara retails at £16.90,  which made me think woah there that's a price tag so expected big things. As you may know my all time favourite mascara is the Maxfactor Calorie 2000, recently I discovered another favourite in the Loreal Miss Manga, I am very critical of mascaras so was intrigued to see the outcome of this mascara, I like my lashes long and thick.

I opened the wand and saw a wavy shaped mascara head, many people dislike large mascara heads but I prefer them so was pleased when I saw this. I applied the mascara and was amazed at how many lashes I have! The bristles are dense and pick each lash up to lengthen and add natural volume, the mascara made my eyes look bigger with each lash defined and lengthened. I would highly recommend this mascara as it is one you can wear for day to night as it gets your lashes thicker and fuller with each coat.

Grab this mascara whilst you can as its on for £9.00!! Definitely worth every penny, here is the link.

Here are some photos with the mascara on, I used two coats, excuse the horrific brows!
