Makeup Revolution Palette Review

Who hasn't heard of Makeup Revolution? A brand that is affordable and who create a fantastic range of makeup. I received this Makeup Revolution palette from my lovely friend Ashley from Beauty Waterfall. I opened this palette with excitement as Makeup Revolution always know how to deliver.  The palette is called the Salvation Palette- Welcome to the pleasuredome and consists of 12 shades with a slight shimmer and then 6 matte shades. I like the variety of nude and bright colours, they all compliment eachother well. The pigmentation is so good and on par with some high end eyeshadows.

You can create many looks using these colours, from a smokey eye to a simple sweep of shadow to create a gorgeous nude eye look. The matte shades are super matte which I love and the shimmery shades do not have large chunks of glitter so it doesn't look in your face. I would highly recommend this palette which retails at only £6.00! Isn't that amazing! Such good value for money.

I would highly recommend this product. Have you tried this palette or any other Makeup Revolution palette?

Review: theBalm Shady Lady Eyeshadow Palette

Hello Loveys,

Here is a review featuring one of my favourite beauty brands- theBalm.

theBalm is a fabulous company founded by Marissa Shipman in 2004, today I am featuring Shady Lady eyeshadow palette.

The palette contains 9 eyeshadows which are great for both day and night, the shades are a mixture of shimmer and matte, from taupe to a deep aubergine. The palette is a handy size for the handbag with a great mirror to allow you to add some on the go with each eyeshadow having a name and description of how you can use the shadow, so the top 3 shades in the far left corner are seen as "shadow/liner" and the rest are seen as "shadow" so its showing you that you can use all shades as an eyeshadow with some as eyeliner too, so a two in one product.

Here is a list of the eyeshadows and swatches below.

Feisty Felicia
Caught in the act Courtney
Shameless shana
Insane jane
Mischievous marissa
Just this once Jamie
Envious erin
Devilish Danielle
Luscious lani

Here I am wearing luscious lani as the base with mischievous marissa in the crease and just this one Jamie for the edge of my eyelid.

The pigmentation is beautiful, I love the shades, I think I will need to wear a primer as I found that the shadow did slide away after a while. The eyeshadow looked gorgeous on, wish the pictures showed the colours more!

Have you tried this palette?

Review: the Balm Mary-Lou Manizer

Review, Mary, Lou, Manizer, highlighter, Blusher, Whispersfromangels, Shimmer, Pretty, Blogger, Eyeshadow, theBalm, Balm
 Hello Loveys!

Todays review is a look at the Balm Mary-Lou Manizer, it claims it is a highlighter, eyeshadow and shimmer.

the Balm was founded by Melissa Shipman who has a philosophy that you only need some staple items to create a look, "beauty within 5 minutes". A lot of the products produced are multi use, so some are blushers and eyeshadows, and like this Mary-Lou Manizer it is a shimmer, highlighter and eyeshadow. The products are cruelty free and paraben free too.

This is available from FeelUnique.com. I fell instantly in love with the retro feel of the packaging, different to what is around on the market. The packaging is fun, unique and girley.

Review, Mary, Lou, Manizer, highlighter, Blusher, Whispersfromangels, Shimmer, Pretty, Blogger, Eyeshadow, theBalm, BalmI opened the case I swatched it straightaway, boy oh boy this is beautiful! It has great pigmentation, applies easily and highlights the skin in a subtle yet striking way. I have used this as a highlighter, eyeshadow and shimmer. It doesn't have a "tacky" shimmer where its overpowering, it is subtle. It has a slight yellow tone to it when initially applied, but then when blended I didn't find I could see that.

The compact is handy to throw in your bag, and to fit in a clutch bag, it has a mirror which is always good for applying on the go.
This can be used on your cheekbones, brow bone and in the inner corners of your eyes to open them up. I will do a look with this product so you can see what it looks like on.

Have you tried this or any other product from the Balm range?

Review: Maybelline Color Tattoo! Swatches!

Maybelline, Color, Tattoo, Rose, Gold, Pink, Bronze, Eyes, Eyeshadow, Review, Blog, Beautiful, Metallic, Autumn, WinterHello Loveys!!

Todays review and swatches are on the Maybelline Color Tattoos! I had heard so much about these and when I saw these in the flesh I couldn't resist!! They are beautiful!

I purchased On and On Bronze and Metallic Pomegranate. I heard so much about these so when I saw them on offer in Superdrug for buy one get one half price I felt it was time to have a go myself!

Maybelline, Color, Tattoo, Rose, Gold, Pink, Bronze, Eyes, Eyeshadow, swatches, Review, Blog, Beautiful, Metallic, Autumn, WinterFirst one I used was the On and On Bronze shade, a gorgeous metallic gold/bronze. The consistency is smooth and creamy. The shadow applies easily and has great pigmentation, it truly was beautiful! I applied this with my fingers and was amazed at the quality, I tend to find creamy eyeshadows crease easily with my old wrinkly eyelids! But these definitely did not make me feel like I had old eyelids, they made my eyelids stand out, with a stunning shade of bronze. I then applied a shadow on my crease line and to the ends of my eyelid. The effect was gorgeous, the next test was going to be how long would it last! I worked that day, was up early and had a lot on! By the end of the day I had forgotten that I applied this and was pleasantly surprised that the product was still on, not only was it still on but it kept my shadow in place. I was super impressed!

The next shade I tried was the Metallic Pomegranate, seen here on the left. This shade reminded me of the MAC Cranberry eyeshadow, it had a cranberry tone with a metallic shade, truly beautiful! As above this was used under an eyeshadow, it glistened through and lasted all day without creasing. I was so impressed that I now have a wishlist to get more colours!

MAC Swiss Chocolate Eyeshadow Review/Swatch

Hi Loveys,

Sorry for the lack of posts, I am back at work now and with trying to juggle a lot all at once. Here is my review of the gorgeous MAC eyeshadow in Swiss Chocolate, as you all may know I am a MAC fan and particularly love the selection of eyeshadows available.

MAC Swiss Chocolate is a matte eyeshadow in a scrumptious chocolate brown. This eyeshadow would look stunning on anyone, a warm toned brown which would look perfect teamed with tones of gold, bronze, green and purple!

As you can see from the swatch the colour is a soft brown exactly like swiss chocolate!! It doesnt crease easily and lasts all day. It is fab to use with a smokey eye.

I would definately recommend this shade!

Have you tried this shade?

Using my Vivo Unprotected palette, I used Forever as the base, with my MUA Shade 30- Pearl in my crease and in the centre of my lid. Finally from the Vivo palette I used Free on the edge an crease. As a highlighter on my brow bone I used my MAC Belightful Pressed Powder.

Step 3:

Step 4:

For lushcious lashes I used MeMeMe Fatcat mascara as a base and then Benefit They're Real mascara to add final va va voom!

Step 5:

For my eyebrows I used my Benefit Browzings. Filling in any gaps and defining them.

Benefit Blogger Event

Hello Loveys!

I was invited to attend the Benefit Bloggers Event! How excited was I?! I attended with some gorgeous bloggers I knew from the bbmeet and was so excited to see what Benefit had to offer and to catch up with the lovely ladies!
We arrived at 6pm and was greeted with a gorgeous table full of treats, pink decorations and a glass of pink lemonade! I felt like I was at a princess party! Loved it! The Benefit ladies were so lovely and showed us a demonstration on the new palettes "World Famous Neutrals!" They are so pretty, each beautifully packaged box contains four matte eyeshadows and two cream eyeshadows. The box also has a mirror and how to style fold out leaflet! They come in three various shades "Easiest nudes ever soft flattering eyeshadows", "Sexiest nudes ever dramatic, daring eyeshadows" and "Most glamorous nudes ever, rich, illuminating eyeshadows". They are well pigmented and are such pretty shades that would look great day or night. Each palette kit is £23.50.

We then had a quiz, where I learnt that Benetit was the first product launched because a lady who was a dancer wanted colour for her nipples!we won a lipgloss each, I won Coralista! A peachy shade. We then had a raffle where Sasha won a bag of treats and then were treated to a nose around Boots! I loved this event, it was laid back, informative and exciting!! Thanks for the invite ladies!

New year makeup!

Hello Loveys! So christmas is round the corner and then bam its new year! The end of 2012! What a year it has been for me, I will do a seperate post on my year, but in the meantime here is a makeup look that would be great for the new year!

1. Apply your moisturiser, foundation and concealor. I used Aldi Lacura Moisturiser, Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation and MAC Select Cover Up to cover blemishes and for my eye area.
2. Apply a purple shade such as the purple shade in my Sleek Dar Mattes Palette all over and the at a V shape towards the edge of your eye area, then taking a turquoise shade like the one in the Sleek palette apply a line on your lower lash line and blend.
3. Apply eye liner on your lid, I used Maybelline gel liner.
4. Apply a turquoise glitter eye liner such as MAC Peacock liner on your lower lash line.
5. Apply lashings of mascara.
6. Apply a highlighter such as MAC Belightful Pressed Powder to the brow bone.
7. Finish with a pink lipgloss.

What do you all think? Its a shame that my camera didnt pick up the glitter or intensity of the colours as it is a bright colourful look.

Happy christmas!!! Xxxx

Christmas Makeup!

Christmas Makeup Inspiration.

As the days become chilly so is the time passing closer to christmas day! We frantically hurry to prepare for the big day, buying presents, wrapping the goodies and drinking mulled wine by the gallon! I love the sparkle of christmas day, dressing up and having glamourous makeup! I thought I would share my look with you all. I will be teaming gold smokey eyes with glossy red lips, so here is how to achieve this look.

Products used.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation
MAC Select Cover Up
Collection Illuminating Highlighter
Maybelline Gel Liner Black
Barry M Gold Dust
VIVO Unprotected Palette
Benefit They're Real Mascara Black
MAC Pressed Powder In Belightful
Collection Bronzer In Sunkissed
No7 Blusher In Candy
Rimmel Lipstick 072

1. Apply your moisturiser and using a foundation brush, I used Real Techniques Stippling Brush, apply the foundation.
2. Then my MAC Select Cover Up was dotted all over my eyelids, under my eye area and on any blemishes and blended.
3. I applied a dusting of the Barry M Dust in shade Gold all over my lid and crease area. Then with a smaller brush I applied "Free" a VIVO shade from the Unprotected Palette which is a stunning palette available online or from Tesco, this palette has been named as the dupe for the famous Urban Decay Naked Palette. This shade was applied in my crease line and to the edge of my eye area and then blended.
4. Using my Maybelline Gel Liner I created a thick flicked line to create a glamourous vintage look. My tip is go from the edge of your lash line and gently draw the line in.
5. Lashings of the Benefit They're Real Mascara with my MAC Pressed Powder in Belightful to the inner corners of my eye and below my brow line to gently highlight the area adding a gentle sparkle to finish the look.
6. A light dusting of my Collection Bronzer and on the apples of my cheeks a light dust of the No7 Blusher in Candy. A tip here, smile when applying your blusher to create a natural flush of pink.
7. Finally my Rimmel Lipstick which is a glossy finish to the lips to complete this christmas makeup look.

Hope you have felt inspired by this look. If you are not a red lips kind of lady how about a flush of pink or clear gloss. Instead of a dark shade for the crease, you could use a deep purple for a festive look.
Wishing you all a fantastic christmas and a great new year!
