Vintage Interior Inspiration: The Bedroom

Hi Loveys,

I did a recent post on some images that inspired me within the home, originally my blog was intended for interior as that is an area I am obsessed with so after the success of my recent post I have decided to do a series on interior inspiration and today it is what inspires me for the bedroom.

All images are taken from Google.

I adore soft colours, draped fabrics and glamorous accessories, this bedroom speaks all those things to me!

This bedroom has a very clean yet feminine feel to it.

Floral fabrics always entice me, teamed with a glass chandelier and you are onto a winner!

This is such a clever idea, take a vintage suitcase and use it to display your favourite items, this image is actually a wedding display but imagine this in your bedroom with your favourite photos or jewellery.

Wow is all I can say with this image, an effortless room oozing with glamour and muted tones.

This is what I define as romantic French, it isn't "shabby chic" with chintz floral fabric, its ruffles, white linen and vintage accessories that make this room as beautiful as it is.

This image shows an unusual display above the bed, a collection of vintage lingerie, why not hang a display of your collection of maybe vintage dresses or bags.

Rachel Ashwell is a designer I Love, I adore her use of colours and fabrics, she is the woman who pretty much started "Shabby Chic" not Cath Kidston but the vintage inspired romantic shabby chic that I adore, don't get me wrong I do like some Cath Kidston items but to me it isn't what I see as vintage inspired, its floral and pretty but Rachel Ashwell is romantic and it can appear as though she has picked it up from a French vintage market. See below her bed linen that I also have on my bed, its such a stunning simple design.

Fairy lights can make any room romantic, soft lighting can add warmth and a fell of comfort to any room especially when placed amongst fabric.

What do you think? How do you like a bedroom to look?

How I organise my dressing table!

Lovely people!!! The sun is out, well kind of!! I thought I would do something a little different, a post on how I organise my dressing table!
My dressing table was my grandmas, it holds special memories! I remember her sitting at it doing her makeup! With her fabulous lancome foundation and chanel perfume, one glamorous gorgeous lady who helped make me and my mama who I am today-a girl who cant go without her heels, lipstick and earrings!
My dressing table is an area I am forever changing as new items come along. Here are just some of the ways I organise it.
As you know I have a love for vintage! I found two beautiful glass stands and have used them to hold rings and bracelets, as I always forget what jewellery I have if its in a drawer! I also got a sweet jar, filled it with my MAC eyeshadows and to jazz it up added a bling vintage necklace! The key to organising is think outside the box! Glam a jam jar or use a teacup and saucer for your hairbands!
And here are some photos of other peoples dresing tables!! I love the glamourous hollywood stars with there silk dressing gowns applying powder!

Love these pictures!! So glamorous! I want to be a hollywood starlet!!! One can dream!

Vintage ideas and images

So I had a poll on my blog which came back with people requesting I do some vintage posts, so here it goes! I have a passion for all things vintage, from clothing, interiors and accessories. I go to many vintage fairs and flea markets, they have to be my favourite days out! This post is a selection of photos to inspire and with ideas that I love and have picked up along the way.

In my eyes you cant go wrong with a wall in the house adorned with different styles and types of frames, pictures and/or mirrors. I am currently completing my wall in the living room with a theme. I chose a floral theme with a couple of mirrors to balance the look out. Above you can see they have selected some floral pictures, mirrors and a picture of a boy. Or the living room with four simple mirrors, or the bathroom with a selection of beautiful mirrors and items! You really can do whatever you fancy with this look, no matter what it will give you the wow factor and change the look of any room!

I currently am collecting vintage cutlery that I then want to use daily! I know how long will that take me! But it will be worth it! I am wanting to tie them up with ribbon and lace in little bunches and place them in a basket...you have to have them on display! You really can find some stunning ones for next to nothing, I suggest going to flea markets or car boots.

Lace, chandeliers and muted tones are my all time favourite thing at the moment!! I really cant get enough of them! I love draping lace onto displays or tying up items with lace teased into a bow.
Muted tones are stunning, they add luxury and glamour to any room! Rachel ashwell uses these tones well.
I am also loving white, look at that room to the left!! How gorgeous is that! White white and more white! Chandeliers add that final touch of beauty to leave a room sparkling!

If any of you have any books you recommend for me to look at I would love that as I am wanting some new ones to flick through whilst I have my cup of tea!
