Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Palette Review

If you haven't heard already Gwen Stefani has collaborated with Urban Decay to create a beautiful palette containing 15 shades ranging from matte to shimmer, from nude to bright.

Each shade is named after a Gwen Stefani song which I think is something I adore! Makes me want to put on her album! Each shade is pigmented and buttery, I adore the quality of this palette, and have managed to use the majority of the shades, its such a beautiful palette to play around with and is a must have for any beauty lover!

The packaging looks high end with its gold detailing, white background and black polkadot effect on the front. It has a magnetic closing mechanism which is a must have otherwise it can get pretty messy! The palette feels quite heavy but is handbag friendly in size.

I cant recommend this enough and am so pleased with the quality and packaging, it will be living on top on my dressing table!

Whirl MAC Lipstick

So we all talk about the Kylie Jenner famous lip colour with people speculating what shade she uses and Whirl has been one of the lip colours she uses so when I saw a lipstick out in the shade I had to grab it.

MAC lipstick, MAC Whirl swatch, MAC whirl lipstick review, kylie jenner lip colour, what colour does kylie jenner wear

Whirl is a matte finish so lasts a good part of the day, it isnt too drying unlike the retro matte range. Whirl is a brown shade with a mauve hint to it, it certainly looks like the Kylie Jenner lip colour that is well known around the world. The colour would suit most skin tones and is perfect day or night, it is now in my top 5 MAC lipstick shades.

Eye Of Horus Maat Dark Temptress Palette

The classic smokey eye, who loves it? I was lucky to receive this trio of eyeshadows " Maat Dark Temptress" from the brand Eye Of Horus.

Eye of Horus eyeshadow palette, Eye of horus maat dark temptress palette swatches, Smokey eye palette

From left to right the shades are as: Amarna Light is a highlight shade with a slight shimmer, with Ankh Odyssey and Dark Dynasty being a matt finish.

This is a great trio to have in your bag for on the go looks. The colours combined work well together to achieve a smokey eye. The colours aren't as pigmented as I would have liked with the highlight being the least pigmented out of the three, but they just need a little extra build up on the lid. The consistency is a little chalky but when applied keeps put without creasing.

The packaging is basic but with a lovely double ended brush and handy mirror, it also has a magnetic closing flap which is handy so it doesn't get everywhere in your bag,.

D For Danger MAC Lipstick

I know another MAC lipstick, but who could resist!! As you may know or not know I am obsessed with MAC Lipsticks, they have to be my favourite brand of lipstick with a huge range of stunning colours.

MAC lipstick, MAC lipstick swatch, D for danger mac lipstick swatch, mac lipstick review

D For Danger is a lipstick that makes me just sigh with joy, what a beauty with its deep red colour in a matte finish, perfect for autumn/winter. It has such a vampire feel to it I adore it, teamed with a smokey eye would be perfect for Halloween or for a dolled up Christmas look. The matte finish means it lasts a good part of the day, it can remain on the lips after lunch and a cup of tea! The lipstick is one of the new shades released within the matte range but this one stands out a mile, if you are a fan of MAC lipsticks especially the darker shades for winter then this one is perfect for you.

Botanicals Body Balm Review

I am currently sat in my living room with the sun shining through, yes you heard me sun in the winter times! Along with that is a scent of beautiful botanical oils from the gorgeous Botanicals Body Balm in Orange Blossom.

I was sent this little glass tub of glory. I did not know what to expect from a body balm as have never used one before. Botanicals is an award winning skincare from the UK boasting a natural organic range which isn't tested on animals and is vegan friendly.

Botanicals body balm. best body balm, highend body, vegan skincare review, organic skincare review,

This 89g tub is made of glass with a plastic black lid giving it that high end feel. The product inside surprised me with its grainy soft like silk white consistency that quickly turns into an oily non sticky consistency when applied to the skin. It truly has become my favourite body product! It moisturises the body beautifully and the moisture lasts all day. The scent is stunning filling the room with an Italian orangery and spa feeling, with the scent not leaving the skin for the rest of the day.

The body balm ingredients include Shea Butter, Patchouli oil, Apricot Kernels, Sweet Orange Essential Oil and Bergamot.

Izabel Boutique

I am really into this seasons fashion, from the trench coat to the shirt dress it all looks wearable and right up my street. I was contacted by *Izabel an online boutique I had not heard of before to have a look at what they offer.
Izabel have a wide range of clothing and accessory items at reasonable prices, I was lucky to be able to chose an item of clothing to review and struggled between the gorgeous trench coats such as a Kim Kardashian inspired camel coloured coat, click here to view and a floaty top to wear post baby!

I chose this top in the end as need to feel comfortable.

Izabel, Fashion, Topshop, Street style, Primark fashion, ASOS leather, New look fashion,

This top is so unusual, I love the dip back hen and sheer panel which adds a different feel to just the usual dip hem tops on the highstreet, it floats beautifully when you walk and when I saw a couple of my friends they loved it! The top is only £22!! so when it arrived the quality surprised me for that price tag, it looks a lot more expensive and feels soft to the touch with chiffon panels and looks great teamed with leggings or skinny jeans with either stilettos or chelsea boots.

Please bare in mind I was only 4 weeks post second baby in this picture and had an emergency c section so standing was an issue!

Where have I been?

Its been a while since I blogged or vlogged so here is where I have been.
As some of you may have known I was pregnant, I had a hard time with SPD and was on crutches, got signed off work and went about slowly preparing for baby. At my 36 week check the midwife said baby was transverse, meaning baby was lying across, I was not told what that meant for me or baby so carried on as usual and was told to come back in six days for a scan. Six days passed and I went for the scan, but the sonographer couldn't work the new system, I was pretty annoyed as it was 9pm and was getting fed up!

The next day I had to chase the midwives to see when I could have my scan at the bigger hospital that was further away, they eventually got back to me and I went to that hospital later that day. I had a scan and yes it was confirmed baby was transverse. I waited for a consultant who said it all to the point, the sentences were "you are now staying in hospital till the baby comes", "if your waters break and you are not within 5-10 minutes of theatre your baby could die!" and "a transverse labour coming in is the one call we don't want to get" so that was it basically, I cried obviously, and from that day stayed in hospital for 10 days, I have a 3 year old and hated the thought of being away from him as never have been!

The hospital stay dragged and dragged, I was told different things daily such as the babies position and what the plan was, I even had a c section booked within my 38th week but then they decided after I had all the prep for it that it wouldn't happen as they booked me in too early.
From day one they all felt babies position each day, twice a day and from day 7 felt the baby had become head down but not engaged, baby was now thought to be oblique, head down but at an angle. I was still not out of the red zone!

On the 10th day (I feel like I'm writing a passage in the bible about how the world began!) I had a consultant come to say they were going to look at a plan, so the plan was to go home if babies head was above pelvis ready to engage, or try a controlled induction. A controlled induction is where your waters are broken, whilst this happens a midwife turns babies head to engage and you are induced. I was happy for that plan. I went down for a scan so the consultant could see exactly where the head was.......but no it was not the head in fact it was the bottom! So all these days every midwife got it wrong, I know we are all human and mistakes happen. The consultant said I had different options now, either go home and wait for waters to break then go into natural breech labour or book me for a c section next week. I said I am tiny and could not imagine being able to have a safe natural deliver with a breech baby as the risks were 50/50 for an emergency c section so an elective one was decided. I was allowed to go home, so this was Saturday afternoon, and was to return Monday morning for more checks and see when I could a c section. I asked the consultant whether baby would be able to move back to transverse, she said no as there was no room for baby to do that.

I went home and stayed at my parents as my husband was on nights so safer for me and my boy to be with them. I had a lovely relaxing Sunday, my husband came over as was allowed Sunday night off so we all had a great feast in the garden and it was amazing to see my little boy.

Monday 5am....I woke and my waters had gone, I panicked and could feel baby across, I rang 999, my husband came, the ambulance crew were very relaxed as they did not realise how serious it was until after they rang midwives! I was blue lighted to the hospital, my worse nightmare was happening, I was sure baby wouldn't survive as it was now around an hour since I realised my waters had gone. I was taken straight to labour ward, I had midwife after midwife coming in to assess me and sort me out for c section, it was not nice as had so much going on and one midwife trying to find baby heartbeat, then suddenly a consultant said "I think we need to go now" and I was off.

In the theatre I was given a brief of who was who, I was given my spinal, though four attempts as they struggled with how small my spine was which was painful. The spinal is a strange sensation where the body from chest down goes warm and numb. During all this a midwife was still struggling to get the babies heartbeat. During the procedure I had episodes where my blood pressure dropped too much and I would struggle to breath, I felt like I had to get out of my own skin.

Baby arrived! Hurray!! All was fine, thank God! I honestly felt it was worth every part to have my little baby safe and well. The staff were amazing during the whole process.

Post c section is hard, not going to lie, but you get there and need extra support. I still have issues now nearly 7 weeks on but other women are fine after about 6.

Baby was born 7th September. Gender will be revealed on my Youtube channel! So check it out.

If you want to ask any questions about c section, SPD or post baby you are more then welcome to, you can email me or comment below.

Review: Creightons VPro Volume Pro Shampoo and Conditioner

We all want that glossy bouncy hair and finding products to achieve that is proving difficult! So when I got sent these little beauties I was excited to see how my hair would get volume and texture. Creigtons VPro Volume Pro shampoo and conditioner are stated to add texture with the sea salt aspect of the product, thicken and condition the hair with wheat protein which is just what my hair needs being flat and thin!

The shampoo is thick and creamy, it is white in colour and lathers up well, my hair felt soft after rinsing. The shampoo smells sweet and promises to add volume, body and bounce. My favourite part of this shampoo is the luxurious feeling of the product, it feels expensive and gives you the feeling that it will make your hair glossy and that salon feeling.

The conditioner was the product that was not my "cup of tea" the consistency was like milk that has curdled, it had a pleasant sweet smell and did feel like it coated my hair well, but after drying my hair it did not feel like it had been conditioned.
After using these products my hair felt soft and conditioned, my hair did appear to have added volume on the ends but not particularly at my roots but I do have flat hair!

Overall for 99p these are brilliant! I cant believe the price tags! The shampoo is my favourite which I would repurchase, the conditioners consistency put me off and wasn't the best conditioning experience I have had, I want my hair to be glossy and super soft after using a conditioner which I did not get.

Have you ever tried these?

Night Time Routine- Products I Use

Night time is one of my favourite times of the day, its the time to unwind relax, light some candles and lather on some must have beauty products. I love the feeling of fresh sheets on the bed, with snug pyjamas and reading a good book.

I have never been amazing at sticking to a skincare routine but have always taken my makeup off as can't stand the feeling or makeup being on whilst sleeping, I just can't relax.

First thing I will do is brush my teeth and use this NSPA Hot Cloth Polish with a hot hand towel or muslin cloth. I apply this on my face and massage it in whilst I soak the cloth in warm/hot water which I then apply to my face to help open up my pores and melt away my makeup, I adore this part of my skin care routine as it helps make me feel relaxed and with the natural oils being released I can unwind and feel like I am in a spa.

Then I will use a micellar water like this one from Boots, a 3 in 1 cleansing solution from the Botanics range which I use to remove the last traces of makeup. It barely has a scent and leaves me feeling clean and refreshed.

Next I will apply a toner, this is Kueshi, one I got in a Glossybox, it has sweet scent but when applied to the skin it isn't overpowering, the toner doesn't wow me but takes of the last traces of makeup. If anyone can recommend one then let me know as I never know much about good toner products to use.

Finally I will use my ever so loved Garnier Miracle Sleeping Cream. This cream is literally a dream, a little goes a long way, it is creamy, thick and makes my skin feel bouncy and youthful. I can not live without this cream! It makes such a difference to my skin. I would highly recommend this cream, my skin looks so lovely in the morning which I have never had before! I then apply the eye cream from Superdrug, a vitamin e eyecream that doesn't tend to wow me but I didn't know which to go for so opted for the cheaper option, it has no particular scent and sinks into the skin.

Anastasia Beverley Hills Shadow Couture World Traveller Palette Review

We all want that creamy pigmented palette that has a range of colours for various looks, I know I have been trying to find one for a while and when I heard about this beauty I had to see what the hype was all about.

Anastasia Beverley Hills, Anastasia beverley hills shadow couture palette, anastasia traveller palette, Anastasia beverley hills traveller palette swatches, best eyeshadow palette

This palette has 12 different shades from matte to shimmer, with a range of nudes, brighter shades and metallic shimmers to create numerous different looks for both day and night. The palette comes with a handy brush, and not one of those annoying sponge brushes! The brush is of good quality with one end being soft and fluffy perfect for blending and one end for applying shadow to the lid and crease. I created a smokey eye and was not disappointed, it is stunning!! Super creamy, highly pigmented and easy to blend, such a stunning palette! I have got to say these are better then MAC eyeshadows, considering I am a huge MAC fan this is big for me to say! I hear there are many other palettes from Anastasia so am keen to try those out too as I am currently obsessed with this one. One thing that lets the palette down is the packaging, its not luxurious like I imagined it would be, but comes with a handy mirror inside, just wish the packaging felt high end and looked pretty but we can't have it all now can we.

Here is the palette.

My Current Favourite Body Moisturisers

Not that we are getting particularly hot weather but the UK is still having warm days, so for some reason I tend to moisturise more the warmer it is, why I don't know! So here are my current favourites.

Vaseline Spray and Go

Vaseline spray and go is an easy go to moisturiser, it comes in three scents one being cocoa that I am currently using but am yet to try the other two. The difference this product and others that I use is that it is a spray product, so you literally spray, rub in and go a must have for busy days! The product is easy to rub in, it has a subtle scent and keeps your body hydrated, this has to be my must have moisturiser for your collection.

Victoria Secrets Coconut Passion Moisturiser

Want to smell delicious all day? Then this is for you! A thick creamy product that leaves you smelling like a tropical island! I always get compliments when I wear this product, it is so luxurious and smells amazing! The cream isn't that hard to work into the skin considering the thick consistency, it leaves you feeling super hydrated all day and a little goes a long way.

Body moisturiser, Body Shop body butter, Best body products, best skincare, Body butter review, body moisturiser, victoria secrets coconut paradise, vaseline spray and go

Body Shop Papaya Body Butter

As you can see this has the old Body Shop packaging, I have a few like this that I am trying to use up so I rediscovered this gem and oh my what a gem it is! Such a gorgeous refreshing fruity scent that lingers on the skin, as always the Body Shop know how to produce a moisturiser, they always get it just right. It lasts all day and night, the scent lasts all day and the product is easy to work with.

Original Source Skin Quench Moisturiser

This moisturiser has a refreshing fragrance that isn't overpowering, it is a light formula that can at times take a while to sink into the skin but it leaves the skin feeling fresh and moisturised with natural oils. It is a great throw in your bag tube to use on the go.

So these are my current favourite body moisturiser, what are yours?

This product is my all time favourite cleanser, my skin loved this! Unfortunately I can only find this on Amazon for £17.00 for this exact 50 ml size which has made me very sad as this is a product available in france! The gentle cleanser has a pump to help you pump the foam out with ease, it has a very light gentle scent and a little goes a long way, two pumps would do my face. Apply the product to damp skin, massage in and then rinse off and you will see your makeup disappear, my skin felt so soft and appeared clear and plump. This is honestly one I would recommend to everyone! This product contains Gorse, Artichoke, Buckwheat and Broom.

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish.

This ever so famous cleanser has become a name known to all. It is known for using naturally active ingredients, the cleanse and polish contains rosemary, chamomile, cocoa butter and eucalyptus essential oil. You apply this cream product to dry skin and massage gently then with hot water and a muslin cloth you wipe the product and all your makeup away, the heat is meant to open up your pores and then the muslin cloth can take out all the dirt and grime. I do love this product the fact that it uses natural ingredients is something I am becoming more interested in. The scent is like walking into a room full of essential oils, such a lovely but not strong scent. Check out QVC that do good deals on this whole range.

Elemis Pro-Radiance Cream Cleanser.

This anti-ageing cleanser is from the luxury brand Elemis. This is described as a deep cleansing cream, with a scientifically proven formula. It contains Moringa seed peptide, Great Burdock, Noni and Assai fruit which are known for their anti-oxidant qualities. You apply this onto dry skin and massage in until it warms gently then leave for a minute and it is meant to dissolve your makeup. I have to say I wasn't overly impressed, it didn't warm on my skin and when I removed the product it left a slight oily residue which I wasn't keen on I prefer the feeling of fresh and clean but this made me feel like I had to wash it again.

Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Face Polish.

This was the first product I had ever tried from the highend brand Laura Mercier. This was a product I was excited to use and it certainly did not disappoint. You place a small amount, pea size was enough for me, onto the face and massage then rinse with water. The face polish exfoliated my skin so well that I saw it instantly looking brighter, it wasn't rough or harsh so my skin felt super soft after. The polish smells so lovely like peaches! I really want to repurchase this and hope to in the near future! Grab this if you can!

Have you tried these? What are your thoughts? Any recommendations for me?

A xx
